ATLANTA – The Georgia Lottery Corporation celebrated the launch of the new instant game Millionaire Mania during halftime of the Atlanta Hawks game Friday. Two lucky contestants in two Cash Cubes had 30 seconds to grab and keep up to $10,000 with an additional $2,500 for the winner.
Arterious Shropshire, 20, of Atlanta was the grand prize winner. He grabbed $1,150 worth of bills and won the $2,500 grand prize. Combined with the $900 he won in a qualifying event, Shropshire is taking home a total of $4,550.
"I plan on buying an SUV and will put some up," said Shropshire, who is studying to become an electrician.
Alto's Kale Irvin, 25, also walked away as a winner in the event. He grabbed $850 worth of bills and also won $850 in prizes in a qualifying event for a total of $1,700. According to Irvin, who works in construction, he will use his prize to pay bills.
The Georgia Lottery's Millionaire Mania is a new $10 instant game that is loaded with cash prizes, including 10 $1 million top prizes that will be paid in a lump sum.
