ATLANTA – A Rome man is celebrating a lottery win. Wilbur Courtney, 77, is one of two players to win $264,782 each from matching all five winning numbers in the April 11 Fantasy 5 drawing.
Cowboy's Food Mart #3648, 1407 Kingston Highway N.E. in Rome sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. Winning numbers from the April 11 drawing were: 3-7-9-10-14. The second winning ticket was purchased in McDonough.
Courtney said he discovered his win while checking his numbers on the Georgia Lottery Web site.
"I didn't do anything," he said. "It was kind of unbelievable when you first see it."
A retired ceramic tile worker, Courtney has no immediate plans for his winnings.
"I will simply enjoy it," he shared.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Cowboy's Food Mart #3648 will receive a $6,000 retailer incentive bonus.
