ATLANTA – An Ellabell woman is pumped after winning $1 million during a gas stop. Penny Green, 39, won playing the instant game Georgia Lottery Black.
“I was waiting for my gas tank to fill up and got a ticket,” Green said. “I saw the $1 million and had to keep looking back and forth at it. I started laughing hysterically and shed a few tears.”
Green purchased her top prize ticket at Gateway Texaco, 3 Gateway Blvd. W., Savannah.
A bar manager at Ruby Tuesday, Green is married with three children. She will use her million-dollar prize to plan for retirement and her children’s education.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
