ATLANTA – A Canton grandfather is amped over winning the lottery. Donald McCollum, 68, is one of three winners who matched all five winning numbers in the Feb. 7 Fantasy 5 drawing, each taking home a $64,120 prize.
“You could hear my scream,” recalled McCollum upon realizing his matching numbers on the Georgia Lottery’s website.
Winning numbers from the Feb. 7 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 3-24-25-28-37. Kay-Way Quick Stop, 2094 E. Cherokee Drive in Woodstock, sold the winning ticket. The other jackpot-winning tickets were purchased in Rome and Rossville.
The lucky lottery winner used a combination of his own random numbers, creating the winning mix.
“I’m elated to say the least,” he said.
McCollum is a grandfather of two and has three adult children.
He has no immediate plans for his windfall.
“I’ll continue to play and win something bigger,” he exclaimed.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. Kay Way Quick Stop will receive a $2,000 retailer incentive bonus.
