ATLANTA – After winning a free Fantasy 5 ticket, one lucky man took home the game’s jackpot prize. Wayne Dedmon, 62, is one of three players to take home a $64,120 jackpot from matching all five winning numbers in the Feb. 7 Fantasy 5 drawing.
In a previous Fantasy 5 drawing, Dedmon matched two of five winning numbers and won a free Quik Pik ticket for the Feb. 7 drawing.
Winning numbers were: 3-24-25-28-37. Mega Star Food Mart #0005, 795 Chickamauga Ave. in Rossville, sold the winning ticket. The other jackpot-winning tickets were purchased in Rome and Woodstock.
A resident of East Ridge, Tenn., Dedmon learned of his prize while reading his local newspaper.
“My normal routine is to drink a cup of coffee and read the newspaper,” he said. “The numbers were pretty obvious.”
A registered nurse, Dedmon has three adult daughters and one grandson.
“I’m still walking on clouds,” he exclaimed. “This is one of the most exciting days of my life.”
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. Mega Star Food Mart will receive a $2,000 retailer incentive bonus.
