ATLANTA – Georgians around the state are winning big in the new Georgia Lottery game Decades of Dollars. Four players won $10,000 each in Thursday’s drawing.
Since Decades of Dollars debuted Jan. 30, 16 players have won the game’s $10,000 second prize. Those lucky tickets were purchased in: Augusta, Jefferson (2), Lawrenceville (2), Lithonia, Macon (2), Marietta (2), Monroe, Newnan (2), Riverdale, West Point and Woodbine.
Decades of Dollars $10,000 winners to date include: Ibrahim Aboubaker of Doraville; Hughdown Austin of Riverdale; Weliton Borges of Marietta; Nathaniel Brooks of Augusta; Elizabeth Guilford of Yemassee, SC; Searcy Jackson of Newnan; Yvonne Pittman-Pearl of Stone Mountain; Barbara Ann Ridley of McDonough; Marsha Tinsley of Lawrenceville; and Jay Tyra of Jefferson.
Six $10,000 prizes remain unclaimed. Those tickets were purchased in: Jefferson, Marietta, Macon, Newnan, West Point and Woodbine. Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
Decades of Dollars is a multi-state game played in Georgia, Kentucky and Virginia. The game offers a top prize of $250,000 a year for 30 years. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Tickets cost $2 per play.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
