ATLANTA – A Warner Robins mother is celebrating a $200,000 Powerball win. Sherry Mauldin won the prize by matching the first five winning numbers in the Feb. 12 drawing.
Mauldin discovered her win on the Georgia Lottery website and immediately shared the news with her husband, Steven.
“He thought I was just playing until I turned white,” said Mauldin, an account executive with a telecommunications company.
Mauldin and her husband plan to pay bills and share the prize with their five children.
“I think we’re going on a cruise to the Bahamas this year,” she added. “We’ve been before, but we’ll make this one extra special.”
Winning numbers from the Feb. 12 drawing were: 11-32-36-48-52 and the Powerball was 19.
Publix Super Market #1008, 1114 Ga. Highway 96 in Kathleen, sold the lucky Quik Pik ticket.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
