ATLANTA – Rachael Leonard is a lucky lottery winner who has picked up a top prize from the Georgia Lottery. Leonard, 54, won a $30,000 top prize playing the new instant game Jumbo Bucks – Lotto Edition.
“It’s a beautiful, wonderful gift,” said Leonard of Rockingham, N.C., who was in the Peach State visiting her daughter.
M & A Mart & Gas, 1941 Washington Road in Thomson, sold the winning ticket.
“My husband and I were driving, and we decided to stop,” Leonard said. “We were on our way back home.”
The lucky winner scratched her ticket while in the store and was elated over her discovery.
“I was jumping around. No one was in the store, so I had enough room to just jump,” she recalled.
Leonard celebrates a birthday this month. She and her husband, Alex, have three adult children.
“I’ll be graduating in June with a master’s degree, so I want my kids to come to my graduation,” she shared. “I’ve already called my kids and said, ‘Your trip is paid!’”
