ATLANTA – An Acworth man, whose two children have benefitted from the Georgia Lottery-funded HOPE Scholarship, has won a massive jackpot prize from the Georgia Lottery. Edward Denovellis matched all five winning numbers from the April 20 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $500,932 jackpot prize.
The lucky winner purchased his Quik Pik ticket at QuikTrip #0720, 611 Thornton Road in Lithia Springs.
Winning numbers from the April 20 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 2-4-12-17-34.
Discovering his windfall the following day, Denovellis “gardened to get rid of the nervous energy.”
“It was surreal,” he said. “I’m pretty happy.”
Denovellis and his wife have two adult children, a son and daughter, who graduated from the University of Georgia and Georgia College and State University as HOPE Scholarship recipients.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
