ATLANTA – A U.S. Postal Service semi-truck driver has won a stunning prize from the Georgia Lottery. Frank Cabrera, 56, matched all five numbers from the Nov. 24 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $282,638 jackpot prize.
A resident of Miami Lakes, Fla., Cabrera stopped at Quick Stop #0003, 708 North St. in Ashburn, and purchased a Quik Pik ticket.
“I put the ticket in my wallet the day before Thanksgiving, and I saw it recently while I was doing bookkeeping,” he said. “It was great! I was elated.”
The lucky winner claimed his prize Dec. 8 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.
Cabrera intends to pay off bills with his winnings.
Winning numbers from the Nov. 24 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 18-20-37-38-41.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.4 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
