ATLANTA – Christian Derricks of Decatur has won a shimmering prize from the Georgia Lottery. He was selected as a winner from the Jackpot Series Second Chance Promotion, winning a 2015 Kia Optima EX.
Derricks’ face shined just as bright as the titanium vehicle he was awarded Thursday at Ed Voyles Kia, 2145 South Cobb Parkway in Smyrna.
While ecstatic, Derricks, 64, is no stranger to winning the lottery.
He’s won $2,600 playing Cash 4 in 2013, and he won a $10,000 prize from an instant game in 2012.
Retired 12 years from Delta Air Lines, the lucky winner and his wife, Paulette, have three adult children and one grandson.
The new vehicle will be Derricks’ primary automobile.
Jackpot Series is a new family of Georgia Lottery instant games with prizes ranging from $50,000 to $3 million.
Ticket prices for the games are $1, $2, $5 and $20.
Players can enter non-winning Jackpot Series tickets online for a chance to win a 2015 Kia Optima EX.
