ATLANTA – A winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Gwinnett County. Murphy Oil USA #7020, located at 3950 Highway 29 NW in Lilburn, sold a Powerball ticket that matched the first five winning numbers from the Aug. 22 drawing.
A Lawrenceville family claimed their prize Sept. 11 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
Thomas and Mary Manicone of Lawrenceville and their sons, Dominic and Michael, have split the winnings.
Winning numbers from the Aug. 22 Powerball drawing were: 4-12-14-21-55 and the Powerball was 7.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.
