ATLANTA – The jackpots for Mega Millions and Powerball this weekend are colossal. An annuitized $363 million is up for grabs for Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, and the Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $203 million to a single annuity winner for Saturday.
Mega Millions has had 31 jackpot amounts and 30 rollovers since the starting jackpot March 11.
A winning ticket worth $5,000 was sold in Ellijay from Tuesday’s drawing.
Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $363 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $244 million.
It only takes $1 to play Mega Millions for a chance to win big. Players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play.
Powerball has had 14 jackpot amounts and 13 rollovers since the starting jackpot May 11.
Three winning tickets worth $50,000 were sold in Buford, West Point and Douglasville from Wednesday’s drawing.
Powerball offers two payment options: the $203 million jackpot prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $138.2 million. Powerball tickets are $2 per play.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions and Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $17.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.4 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
