ATLANTA – Shay Fritz of Augusta won a bookish prize playing a Georgia Lottery Diggi Game. Fritz recently snagged $50,000 playing Super Crossword Cash.
Fritz, 32, said that she was on the phone with her husband when she realized that she won.
“I kept playing, and the prize amount just kept getting higher and higher,” she said.
The lucky winner said she was so thrilled that she accidentally hung up the telephone on her husband.
“I just needed to make sure I was seeing things correctly,” she said. “I needed verification.”
Fritz, a registered nurse and mother of two, plans to use her winnings to pay off her car and put a new roof on her home.
“The rest is going into my savings,” she said.
Fritz claimed her prize at the Georgia Lottery Augusta District Office.
