ATLANTA – Georgia Lottery players won big statewide as the jackpot rolled to an estimated $382 million in the Aug. 8 Mega Millions drawing. One ticket worth $1 million was sold in West Point in Tuesday’s drawing.
Winning numbers from the Aug. 8 Mega Millions drawing were: 11-17-50-52-74 and the Mega Ball was 14.
Money Back #0044, located at 1900 Highway 18 in West Point, sold the lucky $1 million ticket.
Five players around the state won $5,000 each in Alma, Martinez, Cartersville, Forest Park and Union City. More than 139,000 players won a total of over $244,000 in prizes.
The $1 million winner has not come forward yet. Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim Mega Millions prizes in Georgia.
Friday’s jackpot is at an estimated $382 million to a single annuity winner.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $18.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.4 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
