ATLANTA – Georgia Lottery players did their fair share of winning in the March 27 Powerball drawing. While one lucky ticket in Wisconsin hit the impressive $750 million jackpot, four winning tickets totaling $200,000 were sold across Georgia.
Tickets worth $50,000 each were sold in Atlanta, Denton, McDonough and Richmond Hill.
Winning numbers from the March 27 drawing were: 16-20-37-44-62 and the Powerball number was 12.
The tickets were purchased at: Publix Super Market #664, located at 3535 Peachtree Road in Atlanta; Wooten’s Grocery, located at 2287 Bronxton Highway in Denton; RaceTrac #2479, located at 3159 Jodeco Road in McDonough; and RaceWay, located at 4014 Highway 17 in Richmond Hill.
Each ticket matched the first four winning numbers and the Powerball.
Winners have not come forward to claim the prizes yet.
Powerball winners have 180 day from the draw date to claim prizes.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $20.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.8 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
