ATLANTA – As the Powerball jackpot continues to grow, Georgia Lottery players are counting their wins. One $1 million ticket was sold in Roswell for the Jan. 13 drawing, and four tickets worth $50,000 each were sold in Dahlonega, Jefferson, McDonough and Toccoa.
Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $640 million to a single annuity winner – the fifth largest jackpot in the game’s history.
The Powerball jackpot has grown since Sept. 19 and has rolled 33 times.
Powerball offers two jackpot payment options: the $640 million jackpot prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $478.7 million.
Winning numbers from the Jan. 13 drawing were: 4-19-23-25-49 and the Powerball number was 14.
The $1 million ticket was purchased at Exxon, located at 915 Woodstock Road in Roswell, and matched the first five numbers.
The four $50,000 tickets were purchased at: Long Branch Quick Mart, located at 4766 Highway 52 in Dahlonega; QuikTrip #737, located at 5240 Highway 129 N. in Jefferson; RaceTrac #72, located at 1310 Highway 20 in McDonough; and CM Exxon, located at 524 S. Big A Road in Toccoa.
Each ticket matched the first four winning numbers and the Powerball.
Winners have not come forward to claim the prizes yet.
Powerball winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide. Georgia residents also can purchase tickets via the Georgia Lottery app or online at www.galottery.com.
Powerball players can multiply prizes with the Power Play option for an additional $1 per play.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $22.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.9 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
