ATLANTA – Spring is kicking off with Powerball prizes in full bloom. Georgia Lottery players won big in the March 19 drawing with $100,000 won in Fort Gaines and $50,000 won in Fayetteville.
Both tickets matched four of the first five winning numbers plus the Powerball. The Fort Gaines prize increased from $50,000 to $100,000 with the Power Play option, which was 2X.
Fort Gaines Foodmart, located at 201 Hartford Road in Fort Gaines, sold the $100,000 ticket.
The $50,000 ticket was purchased at Fayette Discount Gas and Tobacco, located at 535 Glynn St. N in Fayetteville.
Winning numbers from the March 19 Powerball drawing were: 8-9-18-48-52 and the Powerball was 6.
Powerball winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide. Georgia residents also can purchase tickets via the Georgia Lottery app or online at www.galottery.com.

Monday’s jackpot is an estimated $156 million to a single annuity winner.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
