ATLANTA – Instead of counting sheep in her dreams, a Dallas, Ga. woman counted on cash. In reality, Donyale Bunton won a multi-million-dollar prize. Bunton, 37, won $2.5 million playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Millionaire Jumbo Bucks.
"I dreamt that I'd won the lottery. It was a big amount," she said. "I decided to stop at this particular store because I was feeling lucky."
She purchased her ticket at Little Bear Food Store, 521 Hardee St. in Dallas. Winning the lottery first came to the mother of two teens in a dream two nights before she purchased her ticket. Bunton was in the store's parking lot when she scratched it.
"I was shaking so bad," she recalled.
A customer service manager, Bunton anticipates traveling.
"I'm going to vacation wherever my passport takes me," she exclaimed.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $10.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
