ATLANTA – Cookies and candy are grand, but money is even better, according to one Savannah mother of five. Constance Cobbs, 29, stopped at a local grocery store to buy savory sweets and walked away with a $50,000 top prize from the Georgia Lottery.
Cobbs played the popular Georgia Lottery instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic and won her prize. The feeling of winning is extraordinary, she said.
“This made my day,” she exclaimed.
Discount Corner, 1 E. Derenne Ave. in Savannah, sold the winning ticket, and the stay-at-home mom scratched it in her car.
“I just stared at it for a long time,” she said. “It was hard to believe.”
Feeling good about her lottery win, Cobbs and her husband, Rodney, plan to vacation in Disney World with their children.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
