ATLANTA – A Fayetteville pharmacy technician has gotten a quarter-million dollar dose of a Mega Millions jackpot. Mary Smith, 58, matched the first five winning numbers in the Feb. 1 Mega Millions drawing, winning a $250,000 prize.
Smith purchased her Quik Pik ticket at Kwickie/Flash #0243, 760 Glynn St. N., Fayetteville. Winning numbers from the Feb. 1 drawing were: 16-22-23-26-35 and the Mega Ball was 31.
Smith’s husband, who purchased tickets for the same drawing, informed her that a winning ticket had been sold in the area.
She checked each number he announced and then whispered, “It’s me.”
“He made the most noise,” Smith said. “I was still in the bed, but he kept talking about it until I got up.”
Smith and her husband have four adult children and seven grandchildren. The couple anticipate paying off their truck and home mortgage.
