ATLANTA – A Mableton woman won a quarter-million dollar prize over a glass of ginger ale. Pamela Taylor, 52, won a $250,000 top prize playing the new Georgia Lottery instant game Cool Cash.
She stopped at Ballard Crossing Chevron, 9165 Roosevelt Highway in Palmetto, and purchased a bottle of ginger ale on her way to work.
Taylor is no stranger to winning the lottery.
Tim Taylor, Pamela’s husband, won $30,000 on an instant ticket in 1996.
“We had a great Christmas and shared it with family,” Taylor said.
The couple, who have five children and four grandchildren, intend to pursue business investments with their recent windfall.
A social worker for a nonprofit, Taylor was moved to tears when she discovered her prize.
“I cried on the way home,” she shared. “They were joyous tears.”
