ATLANTA – One lucky Cleveland man is welcoming a solid prize from the Georgia Lottery. George Roberts, 50, played the instant game Lucky Bucks, winning a $500,000 top prize.
Express Mart #0005, 1955 Highway 129 S. in Cleveland, sold the winning ticket, and Roberts scratched it in his car.
“I looked at it several times,” he said. “I was shaking so bad that I could hardly scratch the rest of the ticket.”
Roberts shared the good news with his wife, Lucretia, taking a picture of the ticket and texting it for proof.
The lucky winner owns a small remodeling business and has four children.
“I bought a Dodge pickup, and my wife has bought a Ford,” Roberts shared. “I’m excited!”
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
