ATLANTA – A winning Georgia Lottery instant ticket with a notable top prize was sold in Chattooga County. BJ Food Mart #0004, located at 6230 Highway 114 in Lyerly, sold a Maximum Fortune instant ticket with a prize worth $1 million.
The winner, Cynthia Jackson of Gaylesville, Ala., claimed her prize April 6 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
