ATLANTA – A University of Georgia groundskeeper has won a half-million dollar prize from the Georgia Lottery. John Scott of Athens played the instant game Jumbo Jumbo Bucks, winning a $500,000 top prize.
Golden Pantry #0002, 2290 Barnett Shoals Road in Athens, sold the winning ticket.
Scott, who celebrated his 44th birthday Sunday, claimed his prize Sept. 18 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.
“It is awesome,” the lucky winner exclaimed.
With his winnings, Scott anticipates purchasing a new Chevrolet Camaro and plans to save the remainder.
