ATLANTA – Sherri Flowers of Tunnel Hill has won a lucky prize. Flowers won $10,000 playing the Georgia Lottery’s $5 25th Anniversary scratcher.
RaceTrac #0354, 6622 Battlefield Parkway in Ringgold, sold the winning ticket.
Flowers, a newly-employed telemarketer, said that she saw a car wreck on the highway when she decided to get off and buy a ticket from the store.
“I pulled off and thought, ‘I should buy a ticket,’” she said. “Something told me to get a ticket.”
After scratching the ticket and discovering that she was a winner, Flowers said that she began to cry tears of joy.
“The first thing I did was call my sister,” she said. “I cried three exits down the highway all the way to her house.”
The 40-something-year-old woman said that she plans to use her winnings to repair her car and pay some bills.
Flowers claimed her prize last week at the Georgia Lottery’s Dalton District Office.
