ATLANTA – Kellie Sullivan of Savannah recently experienced a strong case of beginner’s luck. Sullivan, 55, won $50,000 playing the Georgia Lottery’s $7,500 A Week For Life scratcher.
Marathon Gas, located at 2 Gateway Blvd. W. in Savannah, sold the winning ticket.
Sullivan said that she had just gotten done grabbing a bite to eat with friends when she decided to stop and buy a Georgia Lottery ticket for the first time.
“It was my first time getting a ticket,” she said. “I just decided to play.”
After scratching the ticket the next morning and realizing that she was a winner, Sullivan said that she was in disbelief.
“I was jumping up and down,” she said. “I kept screaming, “Is this right?’”
The lucky winner said that she plans to use some of her winnings to go shopping and take a vacation.
“I still can’t believe it,” she said. “I’m extra lucky.”
Sullivan claimed her prize last week at the Georgia Lottery’s Savannah District Office.
