ATLANTA – Two Kroger grocery stores in Georgia sold Powerball tickets with hefty prizes for the April 6 drawing, including $150,000 in Athens and $50,000 in Martinez.
Both tickets matched four of the first five winning numbers plus the Powerball. The Athens prize increased from $50,000 to $150,000 with the Power Play option, which was 3X.
Kroger #0618, located at 700 US Highway 29 N in Athens, sold the $150,000 ticket.
Kroger #0294, located at 4115 Columbia Road in Martinez, sold the $50,000 ticket.
Winning numbers from the April 6 Powerball drawing were: 6-42-45-47-64 and the Powerball was 18.
Powerball winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide. Georgia residents also can purchase tickets via the Georgia Lottery app or online at www.galottery.com.
Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11 p.m. (ET).
Saturday’s jackpot is an estimated $268 million to a single annuity winner.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $24.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
